Recently International club football has seen some sensational and dramatic announcements with legendary players like Paul Scholes and Thierry Henry making shock returns to the clubs that made them famous.
Well now Sierra Leone's most famous and experienced football star, Mohamed Kallon has made a similar return to play for his previous club. Though Henry returned to a club that actually has his larger than life statue in front of their stadium, Kallon actually owns the club FC Kallon which is also named after him.

Perennial Sierra Leone Heavyweights East End Lions and Blackpool played out to a near boring draw on Friday Night infront of an encouraging crowd at the National Stadium in Freetown. Wusum Stars lost 2-0 away to Kamboi Eagles in Kenema in a match that could easily have ended in double digits but for some careless finishing by the Eagles. Diamond Stars were victors at home over Gem Stars in Koidu by a lone goal.

The Caveliers, FC Kallon, have emerged as the 2012 Community Shield Winners. FC Kallon beat Ports Authority by three goals to one, in their first SLPL 2011-2012 encounter which also doubled as the 2012 Community Shield. Two Adriano goals & a Bililie effort were enough to overcome Ports' lone first half penalty converted by Mohamed Mansaray.

Sports transfer rumors and trades are common. Today the buzz is around Leone Star's Medo Kamara who is currently signed to Partizan Belgrade in Serbia. When I heard that Arsenal had shown interest in him, I had flashbacks of the Champions League match at Emirates stadium back in 2010.
In that match up Arsenal won 3-1 against Partizan securing passage to the UEFA last sixteen draw but Kamara shined that night. His pace and strength were a threat to the gunners. He must have made an impression on Wenger and the scouts at Arsenal.

Abdul "Dream" Sesay was born in Sierra Leone and smuggled out of the country as a toddler when his father was executed during the country's 10 year long brutal civil war. His family came to the United States when he was 5. Guarded at times, Sesay also carries himself with a maturity beyond his years, a young man with the drive of an adult who knows what it's like to lose everything.

It’s a yearly rite: one team from a field of 32 wins the Super Bowl and when asked what comes next, invariably the response is: “Going to Disney World!” But for Gibril Wilson, starting safety for the Super Bowl XXLII Champion New York Giants, the next stop was Atlanta.
